1929 Austin Seven
1929 Austin Seven Fabric Bodied Saloon , A beautiful , Charming and remarkable Austin Motor car .Presented today in beautiful condition after a dedicated restoration in the 1970,s , Rescued from a Vicarage Orchard in "Writtle" near Chelmsford in Essex being the property of the then local vicar and the car itself belonging to his brother . After some negotiation and spiritual intervention the the Austin was finally exhumed to be born again . The original Buff log book confirms it being registered new on the 12th of April 1929 , Registered VW9247 which the Austin 7 still retains. The Buff Log book shows the Austin 7 in use in Putney Hill in 1958 London WC1 in 1959 , Salisbury , Wilts in 1960 and then latterly in Writtle Chelmsford , Essex . Chassis number 80718 / Engine number M.81140 Car number A8/3284 left the factory on the 23rd of March 1929 after being built on the 18th of March 1929 . Constructed as a Home market Fabric bodied Saloon with unique "Tapestry" trim . Over the years the last two keepers have thoroughly maintained the Austin 7 , A complete engine rebuild was carried out in 2008 (invoice Supplied) , 2013 saw the Austin undergoing a major service to brakes , Wheel bearings and steering etc (Invoice supplied) , Less than 1000 miles have been covered in the Seven since 2009 , The 750 cc motor starts very well. I drove the Seven over 8 miles upon its arrival and I can confirm it drives just as one would expect , Period fittings are a wicker umbrella holder , Posy holder secured to the dash board and supplying dealers plaque affixed to the dash board being "Page Motors" .
