Jaguar XJ 6
1973 Jaguar XJ 6 4.2 Manual O/D SWB Series 1 Finished in British Racing Green with contrasting green hide interior . One of the very last Series 1 XJ,s , Chassis number 1L33364DN . Very original condition with excellent coachwork and chrome . Inspection of the underside shows this Series 1 to be in excellent condition , The radiator mounts and front cross member are not rotten , The front and rear valances are also in excellent condition . Looking to the underside it has an excellent exhaust system , New rear shock absorbers , Excellent inboard rear brakes and we are currently overhauling the front brake calipers . I drove the Series 1 back to Spinning Wheel about 40 miles and it was an enjoyable drive bar the brakes pulling to the left . Excellent oil pressure was maintained , No overheating noted , The overdrive instantly engaged and disengaged and @ 70 mph the motor was smooth and quiet . The cabin being a Series 1 is a bit more interesting than the later XJ,s with its big speedo and rev counter and its E Typish alloy dash trim . The wooden fascia is lovely being dark burr walnut . The leather seating has been renovated and a new headlining fitted . The XJ retains its original carpets which are in good condition . The milometer reading is circa 27,000 miles and the XJ Series 1 feels like this COULD be correct but I have little history to confirm it . It certainly has not had a hard life . Supplied with V5C , HPi certificate (Clear) and current MOT which expires 19/1/2021 although not required .
